About Us
Who is Irene?
“As
a wise man once said every society is judged by how it treats
it's least fortunate amongst them”.
First I do thank God for my parents for who they are; for the
resources they provided my siblings, and me and for supporting
me all the way on this project. Mom and dad you are great, but
dad, you are the greatest! Love you!
My names are Irene Khatundi Masinde, currently based in Guelph,
Ontario Canada. I am a middle child in a family of seven, being
the baby amongst three girls and four boys. I was born and raised
in this very community I now strive to uplift. And I do have a
wonderful son I am raising on my own.
During my early years I did identify with the vicious cycle of
poverty and kept asking my parents why? Now it is my responsibility
to make that difference. As a community oriented individual, I
have been very fortunate in working with the less fortunate and
disadvantaged communities both locally and internationally.
In North America, I have found new meaning and purpose as a community
oriented person working with diverse disadvantaged groups living
throughout North America, at community, provincial, national and
international levels. There are a lot of injustices in society,
but until one is enlightened on what justice is and how it impacts
their overall life, they may never understand injustice. This
was a further re-awakening of my initial dream on how to serve
a community.
Every time I visit my village and hometown, my heart still bleeds
for friends and neighbours I grew up with, and love dearly! They
are those kind of people you want to know what happens to them
in life. But some of these friends were never successful enough
in getting any menial job, they have children that are and will
not go to school. No shelter, no food, and maybe poor health,
no resources, therefore no medical care.
Ever since, my commitment has gone into this community, I have
vowed to give my best to those in need! Together with your help,
we can make the difference one community at a time.
Blessings.
