orphans & their foster families, widows and widowers as well
as supporting those affected by the disease in general. Help train
and support caregivers and home based care services through provisions
of basics, i.e. food, soap, clothing & blankets.

Smart Solutions
LIMCWHF supports programs that tap the initiative, entrepreneurship
and resources of people living in impoverished areas within the
community and countrywide. As "Smart Solutions" to the
problems of poverty and isolation, these programs are locally
designed and managed in order to give communities a greater stake
in their future. "Smart Solutions" programs promote
new social and economic opportunities and try to instill the hope
that poor families and their children can improve their lives
through individual initiative, collective action and long-term
thinking.
We will work in partnership with International Communities in
support of programs that are connected to international development
strategies while fostering a growing network of partnerships between
communities, NGOs, the private sector, governments and other local
institutions. The program will ensure the best use of limited
resources.
Respected for cost-effectiveness, accountability, and innovation,
programs supported by the Lady Irene Medical & Resource Centre will demonstrate
how a results-based, people-oriented approach to development can
contribute to greater equity and prosperity throughout the world.
We will focus on a number of key areas that help individuals
and communities develop the capacity to improve their livelihoods
over the long term through health, education, rural development
initiatives and the strengthening of community organizations.
It is our anticipation that the Lady Irene Medical & Resource Centre programs
bring tangible and lasting improvements to the quality of life
for millions of men, women and children in some of the poorest
regions of Kenya. |
